Job summary

Carlton at the Lake is hiring a Respiratory Therapist for PRN hours. The role focuses on assessing and managing respiratory care, developing care plans, and collaborating with the health care team to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.

The position requires an associate degree from a CoARC-accredited program, CRT/RT certifications, BLS/ACLS, and an IL license, with a preference for five years of experience.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree from a CoARC-accredited educational institution is required.
• CRT, CRTT, RRT or CCT certifications must be held.
• BLS/ACLS certification and an Illinois Respiratory Therapist license are required.
• Five years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy assessment, planning, and initiation of prescribed therapies.
• Document and communicate patient data to the health care team.
• Develop and monitor respiratory care plans and adjust as needed for patient status.
• Ensure residents receive safe and high-quality care in a supportive environment.

As a Respiratory Therapist you are the backbone of the Therapy Department. Your work will ensure our residents receive the high standard of care they have grown to expect at The Carlton by utilizing scientific and clinical principles for the identification, prevention, remediation, and rehabilitation of acute or chronic cardiopulmonary dysfunction, reviewing existing data, collecting additional data, and recommending to obtain data to evaluate the respiratory status of patients, developing the respiratory care plan, and determining the appropriateness of the prescribed therapy. Initiating, conducting, and modifying prescribed therapeutic and diagnostic procedures. Documenting necessary information in the patient’s medical record and communicating information to members of the health care team. Our residents will depend on your knowledge, skills, and attention to detail to ensure they are comfortable and safe.

To be eligible for consideration for the Respiratory Therapist role, applicants should have: As a minimum, an associate’s degree from a CoARC-accredited educational institution, one of the following certifications: CRTT, CRT, RRT, CCT, must have BLS/ACLS certification and an unencumbered State of Illinois Respiratory Therapist License. Five (5) years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist is preferable but we are willing to invest in the right candidate!
