Job summary

Carlton at the Lake is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join our compassionate team in Chicago, IL. This PRN role supports the Therapy Department, delivering clinical respiratory care and coordinating with the care team to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

Requirements include an associate's degree in RT, Illinois RT license, and BLS/ACLS; CRT/CRTT/RRT/CCT certifications are valued. We offer competitive wages, tuition reimbursement, and ample growth opportunities.

• Serve as backbone of the Therapy Department, delivering respiratory care per physician orders.
• Develop and modify respiratory care plans and ensure documentation in patient records.
• Assess respiratory status, collect data, and communicate findings to the health care team.
• Support residents with high-quality, compassionate care and safety.

As a Respiratory Therapist you are the backbone of the Therapy Department. Your work will ensure our residents receive the high standard of care they have grown to expect at Carlton by utilizing scientific and clinical principles for the identification, prevention, remediation, and rehabilitation of acute or chronic cardiopulmonary dysfunction, reviewing existing data, collecting additional data, and recommending to obtain data to evaluate the respiratory status of patients, developing the respiratory care plan, and determining the appropriateness of the prescribed therapy. Initiating, conducting, and modifying prescribed therapeutic and diagnostic procedures. Documenting necessary information in the patient's medical record and communicating information to members of the health care team. Our residents will depend on your knowledge, skills, and attention to detail to ensure they are comfortable and safe.

To be eligible for consideration for the Respiratory Therapist role, applicants should have:

As a minimum, an associate's degree from a CoARC-accredited educational institution, one of the following certifications: CRTT, CRT, RRT, CCT, must have BLS/ACLS certification and an unencumbered State of Illinois Respiratory Therapist License. Five (5) years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist is preferable but we are willing to invest in the right candidate!
