Nationwide Children's Hospital Inc in Columbus, OH is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for the NICU weekend option on day shifts (7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.) with a 0.75 FTE schedule and an average of 30 hours per week.

The position requires 12-hour weekend shifts on the Main Campus and offers competitive benefits based on experience. The therapist will apply scientific principles to prevent, identify and treat cardiopulmonary dysfunction, develop care plans, and provide family-centered respiratory care

Qualifications

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree from a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Care program.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist with the Ohio license.
• AHA BLS certification required.
• PALS or NRP certification may be required depending on unit.
• Demonstrates effective communication with patients, families and staff.

Applies scientific principles to prevent, identify, and treat acute or chronic dysfunction of the cardiopulmonary system, ensuring best patient outcomes. Authorized to access the unit medication rooms or bedside medication drawers in order to retrieve medications they are authorized to administer.**Job Description:****Essential Functions:*** Applies knowledge of the scientific principles underlying cardiopulmonary physiology and pathophysiology, as well as biomedical engineering and technology.* Offers effective preventative care to, as well as assess, educate, and treat patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies.* Practices Respiratory Care under medical direction across the health care continuum.
