Job summary

Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, OH, is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for 36 hours per week daytime shifts, to promote optimum cardiopulmonary function and patient outcomes.

The role requires a CoARC-accredited degree, NBRC-registered RT and Ohio license, BLS, and unit-specific certifications; you will assess, educate, and treat patients within an interdisciplinary team using evidence-based guidelines. This is an on-site role with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree from CoARC-accredited Respiratory Care program, required.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care, required.
• Current Ohio license to practice respiratory care, required.
• AHA BLS, required.
• Current PALS or NRP certification may be required depending on unit of hire.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements care plans, disease-based clinical pathways, and disease management programs per evidence-based guidelines.
• Provides Respiratory Care using a Family Centered Approach.
• Assesses individualized patient cardiopulmonary needs and communicates them to the care team.
• Embraces interdisciplinary care model and reports updates to staff; participates in quality improvement activities.
