Job summary

Centers Health Care is seeking a compassionate and skilled Respiratory Therapist in the Adirondack Region to provide respiratory care in a long-term or post-acute setting. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical assessment abilities and experience in a similar environment.

Responsibilities include assessing residents, performing diagnostics, airway management, and educating residents on respiratory health.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Current Respiratory Therapist license/certification.
• Experience in LTC or post-acute care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor residents with respiratory conditions.
• Perform diagnostic testing and evaluate lung function.
• Interpret results and communicate findings to the care team.
• Provide airway management, including secretion removal and clearing obstructions.
• Educate residents on respiratory health, treatments, and prevention.
• Instruct residents on proper use of respiratory equipment and therapies.
• Respond to respiratory emergencies, including resuscitation support.
• Collaborate with physicians on individualized treatment plans.
• Follow infection control, safety, and clinical care protocols.
• Provide care with respect for residents’ dignity and beliefs.
