Job summary

Baystate Wing Hospital is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join Baystate Health’s inpatient care team in Massachusetts. You will perform comprehensive assessments, administer therapies, and support patients across adult and pediatric populations under physician direction.

The role emphasizes collaboration with physicians and nurses, competency in ventilation management, and adherence to safety and quality standards. Education includes AS in Respiratory Therapy and active BLS/CRT credentials.

Qualifications

• Associates of Science in Respiratory Therapy required.
• Certification: Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT).
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS).

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive cardiopulmonary assessments and diagnostic testing.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat adult and pediatric patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary disorders.
• Administer respiratory therapies including medical gas therapy, aerosol and humidity therapy, airway clearance techniques, and ventilation.
• Perform pulmonary function testing, blood gas analysis, sleep studies, and other diagnostic procedures.
• Assist with discharge planning and patient education.
• Respond to Rapid Response and Code Blue events with advanced respiratory support.
