Job summary

Parkvistacc is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to assess, treat, and care for residents with breathing disorders. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care and maintain a safe environment in a long-term care setting.

Responsibilities include coordinating respiratory therapy programs, maintaining licenses, and training staff, while ensuring adherence to regulations and facility policies.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as a Respiratory Therapist in this state.
• Must understand the English language.
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action in a timely fashion.
• Must be knowledgeable of supply practices, procedures, and guidelines.
• Must possess the ability to minimize waste of supplies, misuse of equipment, etc.
• Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices.
• Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency care including artificial respiration, external cardiac massage, and assistance with cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
• Perform pulmonary function and adjust equipment to obtain optimum results during therapy.
• Develop respiratory therapy plans for individual residents in coordination with the resident assessment (MDS).
• Review respiratory therapy requirements of each resident and assist attending physicians in planning care.
