Job summary

St. John’s Hospital Camarillo is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide direct patient care, assess and treat respiratory disorders, and support patient outcomes in a busy acute care setting.

You will perform respiratory assessments, implement treatments, document interventions, and collaborate with physicians and the care team while maintaining safety and professional standards.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in respiratory therapy including 2 years in critical care and ventilator management.
• CA Respiratory Care Practitioner license on hire.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) on hire; Advanced Cardiac Life Support on hire; Pediatric Advanced Life Support on hire; Neonatal Resuscitation Program on hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess respiratory status and implement treatment plans.
• Provide direct patient care and manage oxygen, ventilation, and airway needs.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Respiratory Therapist, you will provide essential direct patient care, assessing, treating, and managing patients with respiratory disorders. Your role is vital for improving patient outcomes.

Every day you will assess respiratory status, implement treatment plans (oxygen, ventilation, airway management), and educate patients/families. You'll document interventions and collaborate with physicians and medical staff.

To be successful, you will demonstrate strong clinical skills, critical thinking, and equipment proficiency. Excellent communication for patient interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration, plus a commitment to safety and continuous development, are essential.
