Qualifications

• Graduate of a two-year AMA accredited Respiratory Therapy Program.
• Minimum 1 year primary work experience as a Respiratory Therapist or student rotation.
• Respiratory Care Practitioner license: CA.
• BLS CPR and PALS certifications required.
• Fire Safety training completed within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Plan and evaluate the respiratory care of patients regularly.
• Demonstrate respiratory care judgment and knowledge of respiratory process.
• Supervise respiratory interventions and assist with related tasks.
• Set priorities and coordinate respiratory care with the team.
• Document symptoms, treatments, and patient condition changes for the care team.
• Coordinate the plan of care with other health care team members to achieve goals.

As our Respiratory Therapist, you will provide essential direct patient care, assessing, treating, and managing patients with respiratory disorders. Your role is vital for improving patient outcomes. Every day, you will assess respiratory status, implement treatment plans (oxygen, ventilation, airway management), and educate patients/families. You'll document interventions and collaborate with physicians and medical staff. To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate strong clinical skills, critical thinking, and equipment proficiency. Excellent communication for patient interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration, plus a commitment to safety and continuous development, are essential.

Responsibilities

• Applies clinical knowledge and expertise for coordinating patient care by regularly planning and evaluating the respiratory care of patients.
• Demonstrates effective respiratory care judgment and a working knowledge of the respiratory process.
• Guides interdisciplinary team members by supervising respiratory interventions and assisting with related tasks.
• Provides leadership by establishing priorities and coordinating respiratory care.
• Documents and communicates all observed symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in the patient's condition to the appropriate member of the interdisciplinary health care team.
• Coordinates plan of care with other members of the interdisciplinary health care team to achieve desired goals and outcomes.

Pay Range

$48.74 - $60.02 /hour
