Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide ventilator management, oxygen therapy and critical care support across cardiopulmonary patients. You will perform comfort and life-sustaining therapies, monitor arterial blood gases, and educate patients on home care to reduce readmissions.

The role requires an Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy, CPR-HCP certification, and NBRC credentials, with entry-level experience acceptable.

Qualifications

Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy and CPR-HCP certification.
NBRC/RESP credentials are required or preferred.
Entry level up to six months of experience in respiratory care.

Responsibilities

Manages ventilator/rounding protocols and assists MD in assessing cardiopulmonary status.
Treats hypoxia and bronchospasm with appropriate therapy.
Draws arterial blood gases and analyzes results for therapy planning.
Performs non-invasive ventilation and manages neonatal/surgical patients on vents.
Educates patients on disease state and home care to reduce readmission.
Responds to trauma alerts and emergencies; supports patient stabilization.
Transports ventilated patients and records care in the system.
