Job summary

UF Health St. Johns in Saint Augustine, FL, seeks a Respiratory Therapist II (RRT) for a PRN position.

This role requires Florida state licensure, BLS, and AMA-approved schooling; preferred: Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy and 3+ years in a major health care facility.

Qualifications

Respiratory Therapist II – PRN

Join the Respiratory Care team at UF Health St. Johns as a Respiratory Therapist II (RRT). This PRN opportunity is ideal for a respiratory therapist looking for flexibility while continuing to provide high-quality, hands-on patient care in a collaborative healthcare environment.

Under general supervision, the Respiratory Therapist II administers respiratory care and life support to patients with cardiopulmonary system deficiencies and abnormalities. The Respiratory Therapist II also acts as thelead therapist when assigned and performs other duties as requested by management in accordance with established policies, procedures, and job specifications.

In this role, you will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team to assess patients, provide respiratory treatments and therapies, monitor patient response, and support positive patient outcomes.

This PRN position requires a minimum commitment of four shifts per month, with at least one shift being a weekend shift.

When acting as a lead therapist, be able to provide NICU patient care (i.e., ventilator and Oxygen assessment)Required Licensure/Certifications:- Current State licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist form the Department of Health and State of Florida;- Current BLS certification.Required Experience:Less than one (1) year - Critical care for ventilator management.Preferred Experience:Three (3) or more years previous Respiratory Therapist experience in a major health care facility.
