Respiratory Therapist II - (Part-Time, Nights)

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - Instructor or Provisional
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - Instructor or Provisional
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) - Instructor or Provisional

Job Summary: The RT II is responsible for medication administration, implementing respiratory care, and managing complex patient situations, primarily in critical care areas. Responsibilities include patient education, staff development, and participation in educational activities for new employees and students.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Provide patient care, documentation, and education
  • Perform patient assessments and collaborate in care planning
  • Verify orders and administer therapies such as aerosolized medications, bronchial hygiene, and oxygen therapy
  • Manage ventilators, including weaning and waveform interpretation
  • Perform arterial blood gas analysis
  • Mentor and educate patients, staff, and students
  • Assist in invasive and non-invasive procedures, including cardiac and pulmonary diagnostics
  • Ensure safety, promote quality improvement, and support evidence-based practices

Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program with at least 20 quarter hours of science. An Associate's Degree is required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Licenses and Certifications: All certifications are required upon hire:

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist
  • Respiratory Care Professional
  • BLS - Instructor
  • ACLS - Instructor or Provisional
  • PALS - Instructor or Provisional
  • NRP - Instructor or Provisional

Experience: 0-2 years of clinical experience, with at least 6 months in critical care settings.

Skills: Effective communication, critical thinking, teamwork, computer proficiency, assessment, and customer service skills.
