Job summary

UF Health Jacksonville is hiring a Respiratory Therapist II for our new freestanding ED opening in January 2027. The PRN role focuses on cardiopulmonary care, airway management, and oxygen therapy in a high-energy emergency setting.

Ideal candidates have an AMA approved respiratory therapy program, FL RRT licensure, and BLS certification, with 3+ years in a major health care facility preferred. Leadership duties may arise as needed.

Qualifications

• Completion of an AMA approved School of Respiratory Therapy.
• Current Florida RRT licensure and BLS certification.
• Less than one year of critical care ventilation experience; three years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and determine respiratory care needs in a fast-paced ED setting.
• Administer prescribed respiratory treatments and manage airway and oxygen therapy.
• Provide life-support and ventilator management as needed; support advanced respiratory interventions.
• Serve as lead therapist when assigned to a team or shift.
