Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• BCLS (Basic Life Support) required.
• Current licensure with the Alabama Board of Respiratory Therapists (registry eligible).
• Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in emergency treatment of cardio-respiratory arrest.
• Administer cardio-pulmonary therapy and medications; explain purpose and precautions.
• Assess patient progress per care plans and suggest therapy modes to the care team.
• Provide competent patient care to neonate through geriatric populations.
• Demonstrate CPR according to the American Heart Association guidelines.
• Maintain accurate records and complete hospital requirements; educate patients and families.
