Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• BCLS - Basic Life Support Required.
• Current licensure with the Alabama Board of Respiratory Therapists and registry eligible with the National Board of Respiratory Care Required.
• Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assists in emergency treatment of cardio-respiratory arrest and therapies.
• Assesses patients' progress according to care plan and suggests modes of therapy to physicians and nurses.
• Requires minimal supervision to safely perform patient care.
• Demonstrates ability to provide competent patient care to Neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Maintains accurate and complete records according to department standards.
• Provides patient/family education as needed.
• Accesses and maintains electronic and paper medical records.
