The role involves providing family-centered, age-appropriate clinical cardiopulmonary care, utilizing assessment findings to determine patient and family needs in collaboration with the healthcare team, and communicating findings effectively. The position requires seeking personal and professional development, ensuring safe operation of life support equipment, and taking on leadership roles as assigned. You may also precept staff after demonstrating proficiency and participate in hospital/departmental committees, special projects, and research.

We are seeking a Full-Time Respiratory Therapist to join our Portland team.

Schedule: Full-time Days

FTE: 0.9

Responsibilities include:
  • Providing primary respiratory care from admission through discharge and charting appropriately.
  • Serving as a resource and providing education to students, interns, residents, nurses, and new employees.
  • Ensuring safe, cost-effective operation of equipment and adhering to infection control techniques.
  • Seeking ongoing personal and professional development and accountability.
  • Interacting professionally and communicating effectively with staff, patients, families, and visitors.
  • Understanding and applying hospital/departmental policies and philosophy to daily activities.

Note: This list is not exhaustive; duties may include other related tasks and participation in special projects.

Education:
  • Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy (Preferred)
  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory program (Preferred)
Experience:
  • 2 years Pediatric Critical Care experience (Preferred)
Certifications and Licenses:
  • National Registration by the National Board for Respiratory Care (Preferred)
  • RT License in state of practice (Required)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (Required)
