Job summary

Baptist Health Respiratory Care in Lexington, KY seeks a full-time Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for the 3rd shift. The role covers aerosol and oxygen therapy, ventilator management, CPR, and bedside pulmonary function testing, with readiness for intubation in emergencies.

The department offers comprehensive pulmonary rehab, asthma/COPD education, and 24/7 emergency respiratory care with state-of-the-art treatment plans.

Qualifications

• NBRC RRT credential required.
• Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy required.
• Kentucky license as Respiratory Care Practitioner required.
• Active BLS certification required (within 30 days of hire if not active).
• PALS and NRP certifications to be obtained within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications via aerosol therapy and oxygen therapy.
• Perform non-invasive and invasive ventilation management; arterial blood gases and bedside pulmonary function screening.
• Provide CPR and be capable of intubation in emergency situations when applicable.

Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Full Time (36 hours), 3rd Shift

The Baptist Health Respiratory Care department helps patients breathe better and live healthier. Our expert team provides personalized care and advanced treatments for conditions like asthma and COPD. We offer comprehensive pulmonary function testing, advanced ventilator management, pulmonary rehabilitation programs, asthma and COPD education and management, and 24/7 emergency respiratory care. Our dedicated professionals deliver high-quality, compassionate care using state-of-the-art treatment plans.

Description

Medication administration via aerosol therapy, oxygen therapy, percussion and postural drainage, non-invasive ventilation, mechanical ventilation, CPR, bedside pulmonary function screening, and arterial blood gases. Requirements

• Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist through the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) Associates Degree
• Must be licensed by the Kentucky Board of Respiratory Care as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the state of Kentucky and in accordance with the provisions of KRS chapter 314A
• Must maintain an active BLS. [within 30 days of hire if not already active]
• Must obtain PALs and NRP within 6 months
