Responsibilities

• Administers all Respiratory Therapy modalities per physician's order and documents outcomes.
• Operates ventilators, monitors, CPAP/BIPAP devices, oxygen delivery systems.
• Performs chest physiotherapy and patient education to facilitate airway clearance.
• Maintains CPR and airway management duties including tracheostomy care.
• Performs arterial blood gas sampling, analysis, and reporting to physicians.
• Conducts diagnostic procedures such as pulmonary function tests and assisting with bronchoscopies.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Respiratory Therapist, you will join an established team of RTs who share your passion for delivering highly specialized cardiopulmonary care to patients experiencing breathing issues. You'll be instrumental in providing a range of treatments from breathing techniques and nebulizer treatments to ventilator management, oxygen therapies, and external ventilation support.

• Administers all Respiratory Therapy Modalities per Physician's order: a) Technical/Theoretical knowledge appropriate to the delivery of all respiratory modalities. b) Adequate assessment skills to apply specific modalities to achieve desired outcome. Ability to perform comprehensive assessment. c) Ability to document in the medical record pertinent information.
• Therapeutic use of all medical equipment including: - Gas cylinders - Ventilators - Monitors - All therapeutic medication delivery devices - CPAP/BIPAP a) Knowledge to effectively and safely use all therapeutic devices designed to support ventilation, administer medications, including oxygen, and monitor response of patient.
• Chest physiotherapy and breathing exercises, along with patient education. a) The ability to safely and effectively administer chest physiotherapy to facilitate airway clearance. b) The ability to clearly and effectively educate patients.
• Perform Cardiopulmonary resuscitation maintenance of natural and artificial airways and tracheostomy care. a) Skill at providing resuscitation and management of airways.
• Sampling, analysis, operator maintenance, quality control, and documentation of Arterial Blood Gas Analysis. a) Ability to perform procedure. b) Ability to analyze results and make proper judgments relative to the patient's respiratory status. c) Ability to manage equipment and determine accuracy of results. d) Ability to document and report results to physician, etc.
• Perform diagnostic procedures including, but not limited to, pulmonary function screen, EKG's, assist with bronchoscopes. a) Ability to accurately perform procedure. b) Explain procedure to patient and obtain maximum cooperation. c) Ability to recognize abnormal rhythms sufficient to alert physician of an acute, life threatening event.

Job Requirements

Required

Pay Range

$50.47 - $62.13 /hour
