Job summary

Vitas Healthcare Corporation is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory services to VITAS patients, assessing respiratory status and evaluating treatments within the interdisciplinary team.

The role requires clinical experience in acute and home care, CRTT/RRT credentials, and a current state license. You will educate patients and caregivers, document findings promptly, and contribute to care plans to optimize respiratory function.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
• RRT: Acute care and home care experience required.
• CRTT: minimum two years with at least one year acute care and one year home care field experience.
• Experience with respiratory-related home care equipment, compressed medical gases, concentrators and liquid oxygen.

Responsibilities

• Assess the respiratory status of patients admitted into the VITAS program as directed by the interdisciplinary team.
• Evaluate effectiveness of the present respiratory regimen.
• Instruct patients and caregivers in appropriate respiratory care procedures and techniques.
• Participates as needed in the care process and as directed by the interdisciplinary team.
• Completes appropriate documentation in a timely manner and provides educational programs for VITAS staff members.
