Job summary

Advocate Health's Atrium Health Kings Mountain Respiratory Therapy Services is hiring a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a full-time, 36-hour week. The role features a dayshift with rotating weekends and a sign-on bonus eligible, offering a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities include managing oxygen delivery, ventilator support, diagnostic procedures, documentation, and collaboration with the healthcare team to optimize patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of Respiratory Therapy.
• Associate’s degree in respiratory therapy required (or equivalent experience may be considered).
• BA/BS or higher preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of oxygen delivery modes and equipment and conducts prescribed therapeutic procedures.
• Administers therapeutic procedures and performs diagnostic procedures per policy.
• Initiates, monitors and maintains mechanical and non-invasive ventilators and understands critical care duties.
• Evaluates current therapies, makes care plans, and educates patients as needed.
• Documents therapy results and communicates with the healthcare team.
• Initiates and modifies respiratory care techniques in emergencies and conducts blood sampling analysis.
• Works independently across patient care areas and uses the EMR in the Respiratory Care Department.
• Follows safety guidelines and completes regulatory requirements regularly.
