Select Medical provides a Critical Illness Recovery Hospital setting in Detroit, MI, seeking a Respiratory Therapist for the night shift. This full-time role offers a $20,000 sign-on bonus and competitive night/weekend differentials, with pay up to $43 per hour based on experience.

Responsibilities include evaluating patients, delivering advanced respiratory care, and educating families. Requirements include NBRC credentials, BLS, ACLS within 6 months, and active state licensure.

Qualifications

• Active CRT or RRT credential from NBRC or state equivalent.
• Active BLS certification required by start date.

• One year of related Respiratory Therapy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and recommend a respiratory care plan.
• Provide respiratory care to patients with critical and complex conditions.
• Perform endotracheal tube insertion/removal as needed.
• Promote continuous quality improvement in care delivery.
• Educate and counsel patients and families.

• Providing respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions.
• Performing insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes.
• Promoting continuous quality improvement.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

• Must possess "Active" CRT or RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or state equivalent.
• Proof of graduation required: college transcript/diploma (preferred) or high school transcript/diploma or GED.
• Possess a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by start date.
• Current state licensure is required.
• ACLS is required within 6 months of hire. (Agency RT must have ACLS upon first shift, PRN staff must have ACLS upon hire).

Preferred qualifications:

• One (1) year of related experience is preferred.
