Job Summary

• Responsible for administering safe and competent respiratory care as ordered per physician, monitoring mechanical ventilation, administering medications, patient assessment, understanding ramifications of hemodynamic monitoring, understanding blood work results, monitoring, teaching, and training

Essential Functions

• Deliver respiratory care procedures across hospital areas as per policies and protocols
• Maintain accurate documentation and charge capture of procedures
• Develop and document patient care plans related to respiratory therapy
• Verify and initiate physician orders for respiratory care
• Operate and troubleshoot respiratory care equipment
• Manage oxygen and ventilation devices, including invasive and non-invasive methods
• Perform airway management and emergency procedures such as intubation and CPR
• Assist with diagnostic procedures like bronchoscopy
• Assess and document decannulation risks and perform weaning assessments
• Participate in early mobility programs and patient education
• Monitor blood gases and perform related analyses and maintenance
• Provide patient and family education
• Participate in team meetings, patient rounds, and training activities
• Report workload and patient status changes to supervisors
• Make clinical recommendations for patient care modifications
• Assist in training new staff and students

• Ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergencies

• Understanding of care for adult and geriatric patients
• Teamwork and attendance reliability
• Fluent in English

Salary Range

$28.35 - $35.25 per hour
