Role Overview

Provides respiratory care, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support to patients of all ages, from neonatal to geriatric. Monitors and weans oxygen therapy and artificial ventilation, analyzes arterial blood gases and EKGs, and assists with airway management.

Responsibilities

Performs routine and advanced therapeutic procedures, reviews and documents clinical information, educates patients and healthcare teams, and ensures compliance with policies. Adapts communication and care to diverse patient populations and stays updated on relevant laws and standards.

Qualifications

Requires an associate’s degree in respiratory therapy, 2 years of experience, a valid state license, and certification by the National Board of Respiratory Care. Certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP are required or obtained within specified timeframes.

Skills

Proficiency with computer applications, effective verbal and written communication, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to perform both routine and complex procedures.
