Job summary

Mental Health Association of Rochester is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care, oxygen therapy, diagnostics, and ventilation support for patients of all ages.

You will monitor therapies, analyze ABGs and EKGs, assist with airway management, and educate patients and staff on treatment plans. This on-site role requires licensing, NBRC CRT certification, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Respiratory Care.
• Current state Respiratory Therapist license.
• NBRC CRT certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and advanced respiratory therapies per policy.
• Monitors and manages oxygen therapy and ventilation, including weaning.
• Analyzes arterial blood gases and EKGs and assists diagnostics.
• Assists with airway management, including artificial airways.
• Educates patients and staff on procedures and treatment plans.
• Documents clinical activities and patient information accurately.
• Ensures regulatory compliance and maintains certifications.
• Participates in staff meetings and professional development.

Role: Provides respiratory care, oxygen therapy, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support to patients of all ages, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Performs routine and advanced therapeutic procedures according to established policies.
• Monitors and manages oxygen therapy and artificial ventilation, including weaning processes.
• Analyzes and reports arterial blood gases and EKGs, assisting with diagnostic assessments.
• Assists with airway management, including changing artificial airways.
• Educates patients and staff on procedures, treatment plans, and safety protocols.
• Maintains accurate documentation of clinical activities and patient information.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory standards and maintains professional certifications.
• Participates in staff meetings and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications And Skills

• Associate's Degree in a related field.
• Current state license as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Credentialed as a Certified Respiratory Therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Care.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) for NICU roles; ACLS within 90 days of hire.
• Proficiency with computer applications, data entry, and effective communication skills.
• Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
