Respiratory Therapist – DME

Location: Fairfield, CA

Job Type: Full-time or Part-time | Pay: $44.00 – $48.00 per hour

Schedule: 8-hour shift | Day shift | Expected hours: 40 per week

About Us

We are a patient-centered healthcare provider offering skilled care and DME (Durable Medical Equipment) services throughout the Fairfield area. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality, compassionate support through a collaborative, cross-disciplinary team. We are seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to help us deliver safe, effective care while ensuring patients are equipped and educated on the use of respiratory equipment in the home and clinical settings.

Position Summary

The Respiratory Therapist plays a critical role in coordinating, assessing, and managing care services to ensure patients receive quality treatment. This includes initiating and revising Plans of Care, collaborating with care teams, promoting safety, and preventing disease exacerbation. This position also involves supervision and training of Delivery Coordinators on oxygen equipment setup, use, and ongoing support.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and evaluate skilled respiratory care and services
• Develop and revise patient-specific Plans of Care
• Coordinate care across disciplines and service providers
• Implement safety protocols and disease prevention measures
• Make appropriate referrals to rehabilitation services
• Train and supervise Delivery Coordinators on respiratory equipment
• Promote patient education, compliance, and engagement
• Ensure compliance with care standards, policies, and procedures
  
  
  

Qualifications

Required:

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
• Valid California State License/Certification (RRT or RCP)
• Current BLS/CPR Certification
• Valid California Driver’s License and current auto insurance
• Minimum 1 year of experience in respiratory therapy
• Ability to commute to Fairfield, CA
  
  
  

Preferred:

• Bilingual (Spanish strongly preferred)
• Experience working in both clinical and home care settings
• Business management experience (not required)
  
  
  

Traits & Physical Requirements

• Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
• Ability to demonstrate empathy, compassion, and professionalism
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and frequently carry/push/pull up to 25 lbs
• Capable of stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, walking, and standing for extended periods
• Must be able to safely operate a vehicle and navigate variable home environments
• Ability to identify size, shape, temperature, and color for equipment evaluation and use
  
  
  

Working Conditions

• Primarily based in an office setting with occasional home deliveries
• Variable environmental conditions may include unclean homes, pets, temperature changes, and structural barriers
• Exposure to infectious diseases, hazardous materials, and unpredictable patient interactions may occur
