Job Description:
- Perform and document thorough patient assessments consistently.
- Establish appropriate care plans.
- Communicate effectively with the patient care team.
- Perform and document routine therapeutic modalities, including aerosolized medications, secretion management, pulmonary volume expansion, oxygen therapy, and artificial airway care.
- Manage mechanical ventilators per protocol.
- Provide age-specific patient and family education on disease management.
- Assist with intra-hospital transport of ventilated patients.
- Handle acute airway management in emergencies.
- Set up and monitor non-invasive devices like ETCO and pulse oximeters.
- Assist with discharge planning and insurance guidelines for respiratory DME supplies.
- Follow safety and regulatory standards.
- Collect and analyze arterial blood gases.
- Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA and other regulations.
- Serve as Shift Coordinator after one year.
- Assist with fiberoptic bronchoscopy and invasive line placements.
- Transport patients within the hospital appropriately.
- Mentor orientees and students.
Work is performed in a clinical setting. Responsibilities include compliance with policies, safety standards, and additional department-specific skills. Schedule: 7p-7:30a, every other weekend and holidays.
