Job summary

Colonial Care Rehab is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join our skilled nursing facility team. The RT will operate respiratory equipment, administer prescribed therapies, and monitor residents' responses to treatment to ensure safe, effective care.

Requirements include valid California Respiratory Care License, current BLS, and a willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed. Bilingual abilities are a plus. Competitive pay begins at $32.00 per hour, with a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• CA Respiratory Care License in good standing.
• Current Basic Life Support Certification.
• Graduation from an accredited school.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings.
• Background checks, TB test, and ongoing training required.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates respiratory care equipment for diagnosis and treatment.
• Explain treatments and procedures to residents and family members.
• Perform IPPB, oxygen delivery, nebulizers, and humidification as prescribed.
• Carry out chest PT, suctioning, and airway clearance techniques.
• Set up and monitor ventilators and conduct ventilator weaning as needed.
• Record treatments and patient responses in charts and logs.
• Maintain oxygen equipment, humidifiers, and other respiratory devices.
• Read prescriptions and assess patient condition to determine therapy needs.
• Monitor vital signs, ABGs, and blood gas changes during therapy.
• Collaborate with nursing staff and physicians for optimal care.
