Therapy Management Corporation, a leading US therapy provider, seeks a Respiratory Therapist to join its care team in the Washington, DC area. You will operate ventilators and related devices, assess treatment needs, and work with physicians and nurses to optimize patient outcomes.

The role requires an active RT license, SNF/home health experience, and willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends.

Qualifications

Current active respiratory therapist license with no disciplinary action documented.
Experience in Skilled nursing and home health care settings; hospital relationships near primary facility preferred.
Flexibility in hours with short notice assignments and weekend availability.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate respiratory devices (ventilators, adapters, and therapy equipment) per physician orders.
Provide CPR assistance and monitor patient responses during therapy.
Assess treatment requirements: type, method, duration, precautions, medications, and dosages.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals to manage patient care.
Maintain and review patient charts with pertinent identification and therapy information.
Inspect and maintain respiratory therapy equipment and arrange repairs when needed.
Educate patients and families on disease management, breathing techniques, and equipment use.
Explain procedures to gain patient cooperation and comfort.
