Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Albuquerque is seeking a Respiratory Therapist Extern to gain practical experience in a hospital setting. This externship is designed for students currently enrolled in a Respiratory Therapy program, providing hands-on exposure and learning opportunities during 12-hour night shifts on a PRN basis.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or Vocational school in Respiratory Care.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and ensures oxygen administration to patients and implements oxygen therapy protocol.
• Administers routine respiratory care responsibilities, including nebulization, Chest PT, IPPB, etc.
• Perform diagnostic procedures to include EKG, bedside spirometry, nocturnal oximetry, and ABGs.
• Assists in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

• Must be CRTT eligible or currently enrolled in an accredited respiratory program.
