Job summary

Aspirus Rhinelander Hospital in Rhinelander, WI is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join our Respiratory Therapy team. This role involves providing respiratory and cardiopulmonary monitoring and therapies under medical direction, with opportunities to train staff and students.

Position is .9 FTE (72 hours biweekly) on day shift (7am–7pm) with every other weekend and holiday rotation, serving IP and OP patients and a busy Northwoods hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Requires graduation from an AMA approved school of Respiratory Care with an associate degree.
• Active Wisconsin Respiratory Care Practitioner license required.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or registry eligible with certification within 1 year of hire.
• Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory and cardiopulmonary monitoring, diagnostics and therapy services under medical direction.
• Assist in orientation and training of staff, students and public regarding respiratory care.
• Care for adolescent, adult and geriatric patients and interpret patient data to determine treatment needs.
• Demonstrate age-appropriate care needs across patient groups when applicable.

The Respiratory Therapist provides respiratory and cardiopulmonary monitoring, diagnostics, and therapy services under medical direction to patients in a variety of care environments. Assists in orientation training of hospital staff, students and the public regarding respiratory disease and care. Provides respiratory care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Interprets patient information and understands treatment needs depending on the age of patients under care.

Whenever applicable, demonstrates understanding of the needs of specific age groups in terms of their physical and motor development, psychosocial development, and intellectual/language development.

HOURS: .9 FTE/72 hours every two weeks working day shift hours 7am-7pm includes every other weekend along with holiday rotation

• 7 shifts on/7 shifts off

Experience/Qualifications

• Knowledge of respiratory care standards and protocols normally acquired through graduation from an AMA approved school of Respiratory Care with an associate degree.
• An active Wisconsin Respiratory Care Practitioner license required.
• Registered RRT by the National Board of Respiratory Care, or registry eligible and obtained within one year of hire.
• Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire
