Job summary

Aspirus Ironwood Hospital in Ironwood, MI is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our respiratory therapy team on a full-time basis. The role is 0.9 FTE with night shifts and weekend rotation, onsite at Ironwood.

Responsibilities include monitoring and delivering cardiopulmonary care under medical direction for patients of all ages, and participating in staff education and training on respiratory disease and care.

Qualifications

• Graduation from AMA approved school of Respiratory Care with an Associate Degree.
• Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Care or Biological Sciences and one year of critical care experience; pulmonary function or cardiopulmonary lab beneficial.
• BLS and ACLS required; NRP and PALS preferred
• Michigan license to practice respiratory care and RRT or CRT certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory and cardiopulmonary monitoring, diagnostics and therapy under medical direction.
• Assist in orientation and training of hospital staff, students and the public.
• Deliver respiratory care to patients of all ages (neonates to geriatric) as appropriate.
• Demonstrate understanding of needs of different age groups in care delivery.

Aspirus Ironwood Hospital in Ironwood, MI is seeking a RESPIRATORY THERAPIST - RRT to join our RESPIRATORY THERAPY team!

While specific tasks may vary, general responsibilities include:

• Provides respiratory and cardiopulmonary monitoring, diagnostics and therapy services under medical direction to patients in a variety of care environments.
• Assists in orientation training of hospital staff, students and the public regarding respiratory disease and care.
• Provides respiratory care to patients of all ages, including neonates, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Interprets patient information and understands treatment needs depending on the age of patients under care.
• Whenever applicable, demonstrates understanding of the needs of specific age groups in terms of their physical and motor development, psychosocial development and intellectual/language development.

HOURS:

Full Time; 0.9 FTE or 72 hours per pay period. PRIMARILY NIGHT SHIFT W/WEEKEND ROTATION

Experience/Qualifications

• Knowledge of respiratory care standards and protocols normally acquired through graduation from an AMA approved school of Respiratory Care with an Associate Degree.
• Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Care or Biological Sciences and one year of critical care experience and experience in pulmonary function or cardiopulmonary lab beneficial.
• BLS and ACLS required; NRP and PALS preferred
• Michigan license to practice respiratory care and RRT or CRT certification required.

Aspirus Ironwood Hospital includes a 25-bed critical access hospital, multi-specialty clinic, satellite clinic in Wisconsin, surgical clinic, walk-in clinic and a home health agency. Ironwood's service area covers approximately 30,000 people. The hospital has a 4 bed ICU, 3 bed OB unit, and 4 surgical units. The emergency department is staffed 24/7 with ER physicians, with approximately 12,000 visits annually. The hospital's inpatient census is 10 patients per day. The outpatient clinic has over 50,000 visits annually.
