Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital in Darby, PA. This part-time (24 hours/week) position involves operating respiratory care equipment, delivering medications, and assisting in patient assessment under physician orders.

Responsibilities include oxygen therapy, ABG sampling, ventilator management, and patient education. Eligibility requires PA RT license (NBRC), BLS, and AMA-approved RT program completion.

Qualifications

• HS graduate or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an AMA approved respiratory therapy program required
• Current PA License in Respiratory Therapy required, NBRC registration and BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates respiratory care equipment as ordered by the physician.
• Delivers medications to assist respiratory conditions.
• Demonstrates competence in Oxygen Therapy and ABG sampling.
• Monitors patient condition, notifies nurse/physician as needed, and assists in CPR when required.
• Maintains ventilator functions and uses pulse oximetry appropriately.
• Participates in patient and family education.

Employment Type: Part time Shift: 12 Hour Day Shift Description: Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Employment Type: Part-time (24 hours/week) Shift: 12 hour day shift Location: Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital - Darby, PA

Position Purpose

Under supervision of the department manager and/upon request of the physician order, the Respiratory Therapist sets up and operates various types of respiratory care equipment to be utilized in the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disease or illness. Also, delivery of medications needed to assist in control of Respiratory ailments.

As a Respiratory Therapist, you will:

• Demonstrates competence in providing Oxygen Therapy
• Demonstrates competence in Arterial Blood Gas Sampling
• Recognizes changes in patient condition and responds appropriately (notifies nurse/physician, initiates CPR)
• Sets up and maintains ventilator functions
• Demonstrates appropriate use of pulse oximetry device
• Participates in the education process of patients and families

Minimum Qualifications

• HS graduate or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an AMA approved respiratory therapy program required
• Current PA License in Respiratory Therapy required, must be registered by the NBRC BLS required.
