Job summary

Avera Dell Rapids Clinic is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (PRN) to assess, treat, and manage the cardiopulmonary system for patients across all ages. Responsibilities include oxygen therapy, airway management, ventilator care, blood gas testing, and potential sleep-lab duties.

Documentation occurs in the EMR with timely charges. The role requires the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and to participate in on-call coverage, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• Respiratory Therapist licensing required, active in state of practice.
• CRT NBRC certification preferred or required upon hire.
• RRT NBRC certification preferred or required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patients and administers prescribed respiratory and cardiopulmonary treatments.
• Documents care and submits charges accurately in the EMR.
• Implements and monitors oxygen therapy and airway clearance techniques.
• Sets up and manages ventilators (invasive and non-invasive) as needed.
• Performs blood gas sampling and analyzes results.
• May assist in Pulmonary Rehab and sleep studies as needed.
• Instructs staff on equipment use and safety; participates in policy updates.
