Lexington Health in Columbia, SC, is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for the full-time day shift (7:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.). The role provides care to patients under the direction of a physician/manager, including oxygen therapy, Pulmonary Function Tests, patient education, and proper documentation.

The qualified candidate will have an AMA-accredited two-year Associate Degree in Respiratory Care, SC license, BLS, and a commitment to ethical practice and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: Graduate of a 2 year Associate Degree AMA accredited program for Respiratory Care
• Required Certifications/Licensure: Respiratory Therapist licensed by the Board of Medical Examiners for the State of South Carolina (biennial renewal required). Certified within 90 days to meet licensure requirements; Basic Life Support (BLS) Certified.
• Essential Functions include: excellent communication with patients of all ages, triage by phone, adherence to health and safety regulations, and routine oxygen therapy.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic procedures such as Pulmonary Function Tests and interprets results.
• Provides patient education, results reporting and clinical documentation.
• Maintains equipment and log sheets, including oxygen equipment and pulmonary function devices.
• Responds to emergencies and assists in CPR/Mayday scenarios.
• Supports compliance with regulatory agencies and hospital policies.
