Job summary

Jackson Hospital in Montgomery, AL seeks an experienced Respiratory Therapist to join our team. The candidate should hold RRT or CRT credentials, Alabama license, and have BLS/ACLS; PALS/NRP preferred. 1 year of critical care and neonatal experience is preferred.

Strong computer skills for HIS and devices are required for patient care and documentation. Responsibilities include patient assessment, treatment planning, and collaboration with physicians and nurses within the hospital's respiratory

Qualifications

• AMA-approved program for respiratory care.
• 1 year of critical care and neonatal experience preferred.
• RRT or CRT; RRT preferred, BLS and ACLS required, PALS and NRP preferred.
• Current Alabama License required.
• Computer skills required for use of Hospital Information System and other devices.
• Standing and walking for long periods, bending, lifting, climbing stairs, maneuvering heavy rolling equipment long distances, assisting hospital staff in positioning and moving patients.

Responsibilities

• Performs within the scope of practice defined by Alabama State Board of Respiratory Therapy Chapter 798-X-4.
• Promotes evidence-based respiratory care through patient assessment, recommendations, education, intervention and communication with the health care team.
• Follows Jackson Hospital performance standards, supports operations and participates in performance improvement.
• Attends required hospital and departmental education and stays current in the field.
