Summary: The Certified Respiratory Therapist shall perform duties involved with the treatment, management control, diagnostic evaluation, and care of patients with deficiencies and/or abnormalities within the Pulmonary system. Communicates with Physician and Respiratory team regarding patients progress in regards to care plan. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.
Education/Experience: Degree in Respiratory Therapy. RRT must be obtained within 12 months in position.
License / Certification: Active ASBRT LRT required, Active NBRC CRT required, BLS required. Additional certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc) may be required depending upon area assigned.
Position requires walking 33% sitting 33%, and standing 33% of the time during the workday.
There is occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
There is frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action.
Must be able to push and pull equipment and supplies up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person.
Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range.
Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks.
Must be able to assist and maneuver patients to and from wheelchairs, stretchers and beds. Requires occasional interfacility transport via ground transportation.
