Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT is seeking a part-time Respiratory Therapist for rotating shifts. The role involves administering respiratory care, operating ventilators and related devices, and providing expert clinical judgment in patient management.

The successful candidate will hold an allied health degree, CT licensure, and NBRC credentials (RRT/CRT) with strong knowledge of respiratory care procedures. Per diem with favorable shift and weekend differentials is available.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Respiratory Care; minimum of a two-year Associate's Degree.
• Current State of CT Respiratory Care Practitioner License.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified (CRT) by NBRC.
• Thorough knowledge of respiratory care procedures and patient care techniques.

Responsibilities

• Function clinically with a considerable amount of independent judgment regarding patient care delivery.
• Serve as a technical resource to physicians and health care workers on respiratory care practices.
• Set up, operate and manage patient care on respiratory-related equipment (mechanical ventilators, NIPPV/CPAP, High Flow).
• Manage patients on invasive mechanical ventilation modes (AC, PSV, PC, APRV, Bi-level).

Position Purpose

The Respiratory Therapist shall be responsible for the administration of respiratory care offered by the Respiratory Care Department

What you will do

• Function clinically with a considerable amount of independent judgment regarding the delivery of quality patient care
• Serve as a technical resource person to the physicians and other health care workers, with regard to current practices in respiratory care
• Set up, operate and manage patient care on respiratory related equipment such as mechanical ventilators, NIPPV/CPAP, or High Flow Oxygen devices
• Manage patients on invasive mechanical ventilation modes (AC, PSV, PC, APRV, Bi-level)

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Respiratory Care, minimum of a two-year Associate's Degree
• Current State of CT Respiratory Care Practitioner License
