Job summary

Springfield Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to perform respiratory assessments across all hospital areas, following AARC guidelines, and promote compassionate, efficient patient care. The role emphasizes teaching and clear communication across the care team.

Qualifications

• Completion of accredited Respiratory Therapy program is required.
• Vermont Respiratory Care Practitioner license is required.
• NBRC registration or certification is required.
• One year clinical experience is required.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers is required.
• ACLS is required.
• PALS is preferred.
• NRP certificate is preferred.
• Two years' clinical experience, including emergency care, is preferred.
• Experience with outpatient testing (PFT, stress testing, cardiac monitors) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Use Respiratory Assessment throughout all areas of the hospital when caring for patients.
• Follow the AARC Clinical Practice Guidelines.
• Promote compassionate, efficient, cost effective quality patient care, while demonstrating qualities consistent for the role.
• Incorporate teaching principles into all practices.
• Show use of written and verbal communication skills in all aspects of the role.

Education

Completion of accredited Respiratory Therapy program

Vermont Respiratory Care Practitioner license

Registration or Certification with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)

PALS (preferred)

NRP certificate (preferred)

ACLS (required)

BLS for Healthcare Providers (required)
