Job summary

Johnson Memorial Hospital is seeking a part-time Respiratory Therapist to administer respiratory care under the Respiratory Care Department. The role requires clinical judgment and collaboration with medical staff to ensure high-quality patient care.

The position involves managing ventilators, NIPPV/CPAP, and high-flow devices, with responsibility for patients on invasive ventilation and various modes. Prior CT licensure and NBRC certification are required.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Respiratory Care required.
  • Current CT license as Respiratory Care Practitioner.
  • NBRC certification (RRT or CRT) required.
  • Strong knowledge of respiratory care procedures and patient care techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Administer respiratory care as part of the Respiratory Care Department.
  • Work with physicians and staff to deliver quality patient care.
  • Set up and manage equipment like ventilators and high-flow oxygen devices.
  • Operate and adjust invasive and non-invasive ventilation modes as needed.

Job description

Employment Type: Part time Shift: 12 Hour Day Shift Description:

The Respiratory Therapist shall be responsible for the administration of respiratory care offered by the Respiratory Care Department

What you will do
  • The Respiratory Therapist shall be responsible for the administration of respiratory care offered by the Respiratory Care Department

  • Function clinically with a considerable amount of independent judgment regarding the delivery of quality patient care

  • Serve as a technical resource person to the physicians and other health care workers, with regard to current practices in respiratory care

  • Sets up, operates and manages patient care on respiratory related equipment such as mechanical ventilators, NIPPV/CPAP, or High Flow Oxygen devices; Manages patients on invasive mechanical ventilation modes (AC, PSV, PC, APRV, Bi-level)

Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Respiratory Care, minimum of a two-year Associate's Degree

  • Current State of CT Respiratory Care Practitioner License

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified (CRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).

  • Thorough knowledge of the procedures and patient care techniques involved in the delivery of respiratory care
