INTEGRIS Health Ponca City Hospital in Ponca City, OK, seeks a part-time Respiratory Therapist CRT for night shift. You may be eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $2,500.

The role involves administering therapeutic services and diagnostic tests, handling physician orders, setting up equipment, and monitoring patient history, vitals, and blood gases to guide therapy. On-call duties may apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of full-time experience in respiratory care or hands-on practicum in an accredited program.
• RCP license held or pending via temporary letter to practice until board licensing.
• CRT certification required.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS certification within 60 days of hire.
• Must communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Administers a wide variety of therapeutic services and diagnostic tests to various patient types.
• Accepts verbal orders from physicians and records accurately in the patient’s medical record.
• Sets up equipment and supplies and assists physicians during procedures.
• Assesses/reassesses patient history, vitals, blood gases to determine therapy modalities.
• Performs intubation as needed and approved.
• Performs arterial punctures or blood gas analysis.
• Schedules PAP Therapy appointments.
• Maintains documentation for PAP Therapy.
• Educates patients on DME respiratory equipment.
• Maintains PAP Therapy equipment inventory.
• Continuing education on PAP Therapy guidelines.

Responsibilities

The Respiratory Therapist CRT assumes responsibility for the management and delivery of patient care for their assigned areas. This position requires population specific competencies. Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate based on the level of patient contact this position requires.

The Respiratory Therapist CRT responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Administers a wide variety of therapeutic services and diagnostic tests to various patient types.
• Accepts verbal orders from physicians (for Respiratory Care Procedures) and records accurately in the patients medical record.
• Sets up all equipment/supplies needed and provides assistance to the physicians during special procedures.
• Assesses/reassesses patient history, chest x-rays, vital signs, blood gases, progress notes, etc. in order to determine appropriate therapy modalities/frequencies or effects of conscious sedation and communicates this to the physician.
• Performs intubation as needed or requested where after deemed confident by Respiratory Staff and approved by the medical staff.
• Performs arterial punctures or blood gas analysis for arterial blood gases.
• Schedules patient appointments for PAP Therapy.
• Maintains all necessary documentation and ensures all require documentation is available for PAP Therapy.
• Communicates DME respiratory equipment education to patients.
• Maintains inventory on all PAP Therapy equipment.
• Continues to seek education on all PAP Therapy guideline requirements and changes.
• Potential for bodily injury related to lifting and incidents of workplace violence. Must follow universal safety precautions.
• May be required to be on call status.

Required Qualifications

• 1 year of full-time experience in respiratory care or 1 recent year of a hands-on clinical practicum in an accredited respiratory care program.
• RCP (Respiratory Care Practitioner) - The incumbent may work under a temporary letter to practice issued by OSBMLS until the Board meets to issue their Respiratory Care Practitioner License.
• CRT (Certified Respiratory Therapist)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) Issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) Issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association Issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association within 60 days of hire
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal/written).
