Job summary

The role requires applying advanced clinical expertise to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate treatments per hospital guidelines. Qualifications include an Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy, RRT and BLS certifications; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Licenses and certifications including Respiratory Care Practitioner, RRT, and Basic Life Support.
• Experience not required; however, proficiency in advanced clinical procedures is essential.
• Strong communication, teaching, critical thinking, and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory procedures following established standards and policies.
• Communicate effectively with healthcare teams through documentation and handoffs.
• Educate patients, families, and staff on respiratory treatments, utilizing diverse learning styles.
• Demonstrate advanced skills supporting complex interventions such as ECMO, mechanical ventilation, bronchoscopies, and sleep studies.
• Ensure patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance while delivering age-appropriate care.
• Seek continuous learning, prioritize tasks, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
