Job summary

Golden Merced Care Center is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist (RCP) to enhance patient recovery with specialized respiratory care in a skilled nursing setting. The role emphasizes technical proficiency, compassionate service, and collaboration with the healthcare team.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of respiratory therapy experience, an accredited associate degree, and California RCP licensure, CPR/BLS, and ACLS certifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Minimum of associate degree from an accredited school.
• Graduate of a respiratory care program required.
• Bachelor of Science degree in the healthcare field preferred.
• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license for California.
• Must hold a current CPR/BLS and ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Receive and follow schedule/instructions from your supervisor and as outlined in our established policies and procedures.
• Adhere to established policies and procedures of the community to which the position is assigned.
• Perform focused interviews to identify specific patients’ needs.
• Assess signs and symptoms indicating physiological and psychosocial changes in the patient’s condition.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret data and information from healthcare members and documents actual and/or potential diagnoses.
• Plan for outcomes of care for assigned patients.
• Perform interventions according to identified priorities, plan of care, and company policies and patient care outcome standards.
• Follow emergency, safety, and infection control procedures of the community to which the position is assigned.
• Promote and participate in activities to facilitate good interpersonal communications.
• Report and document changes in the patient’s respiratory status to the Physician, Nurse, and others responsible for oversight of patient care, prior to exiting the community.
