Job summary

Hillsboro Medical Center is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to plan, deliver and evaluate respiratory care per physician orders. You will perform diagnostic testing, administer therapies and document care in the EMR, ensuring patient safety and quality outcomes.

You will collaborate with physicians and the care team, participate in code blue events, manage equipment, and pursue ongoing education to stay current with procedures and standards.

Qualifications

• Highest science-related diploma or transcript required upon hire.
• Preferred: Associate Degree in Respiratory Care from an accredited program.
• Licensed Respiratory Therapist per state requirements; NBRC registration.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications required within specified timelines.

Responsibilities

• Independently performs respiratory diagnostic testing including treadmill tests and EKGs.
• Delivers respiratory treatments per departmental procedures and orders.
• Administers medications safely following policies and documents care.
• Participates in CPR as part of the Code Blue team and maintains equipment.
• Documents assessments, treatments and medications in the EMR.
• Communicates with physicians and care team to plan and evaluate care.
• Ensures patient safety, clean environment and adequate supplies.
• Participates in ongoing education and evaluation of new equipment.
