The Respiratory Therapist provides cardiopulmonary services to hospital patients and outpatients, coordinating care with physicians, nursing staff, and other therapies. The role requires advanced practitioner skills, including complex patient care intervention, advanced assessment, and conducting non-invasive cardiac and respiratory studies. The therapist may also assist nursing staff during high utilization periods and participate in special projects.
