Cullman Regional Medical Center in Cullman, AL is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (full-time night shift). You will train new staff and mentor students, and perform advanced life support ventilation procedures per established protocols.

Duties include daily ABG lab maintenance, documentation, equipment upkeep, and promoting exceptional patient experiences while supporting team productivity targets. Candidates must complete a two-year AMA-approved respiratory therapy program, be registered (RRT),

Formación

• Requires completion of a two-year AMA-approved respiratory therapy program.
• Must be registered (RRT) and hold a current Alabama respiratory license.
• Approximately six to twelve months of related work experience.
• ACLS, PALS, and CPR certification are recommended.

Responsabilidades

• Assist in training new employees and serve as a mentor to RTs and students.
• Perform complex life support ventilation procedures per protocols.
• Maintain daily ABG lab operations to meet Joint Commission/CLIA standards.
• Document procedures and manage charge procedures performed.
• Support coworkers to keep productivity above target year-to-date.
• Gather and clean equipment; return to proper storage per guidelines.
• Encourage teamwork and ensure excellent patient/guest experiences.
• Uphold patient safety and quality in daily practice.

Job Summary

• Assist in training new employees, serve as a reference/mentor to certified respiratory therapists, precept students.
• Perform complex functions of life support ventilation systems in a manner of quality critical care support consistence with competencies, procedures, and/or protocols.
• Perform daily maintenance of ABG lab for Joint Commission standards and CLIA.
• Perform prescribed critical care procedures, documentation of procedures performs, and charge procedures perform.
• Assist coworkers in maintaining productivity percentage above 100% year-to-date or prescribed by senior leadership.
• Gather equipment after patient use, clean equipment per manufacture guidelines, and return equipment to proper storage.
• Demonstrate and encourage team behavior and exceptional patient/guest experiences.
• Uphold and promote patient safety and quality.

Qualifications: Education:

Requires knowledge of anatomy, physiology, microbiology, pulmonary physics, pulmonary physiology, advanced respiratory care, mathematics, blood chemistry and pharmacology at a level generally acquired through completion of two-year AMA approved program in respiratory therapy. Must be registered (RRT). Must have current Alabama respiratory license.

Experience:

Approximately six to twelve months of progressively more responsible related work experience necessary to gain complete understanding of respiratory therapy principles and procedures to provide assistance in resolution of difficult work-related problems. Completes initial and annual competencies and assists with other staff members

Additional Skills/Abilities:

Recommend being certified in ACLS, PALS, and CPR.
