Riverside Walter Reed Hospital in Gloucester, Virginia is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner to plan, execute, and evaluate respiratory care for assigned patients. You will work under leadership to provide services aligned with Riverside Health System standards and patient safety goals.

Responsibilities include assessing and implementing treatment plans, documenting orders, and collaborating with physicians and nurses to adjust care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Associates Degree in Respiratory Therapy or Related Field required
• Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy or Related Field preferred
• 1 year Respiratory Therapist experience preferred
• NBRC Respiratory Care Practitioner license required upon hire
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) license required upon hire
• CPR/BLS certification required upon hire
• ACLS Provider required within 1 year of hire

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, implement, and evaluate respiratory care plans for patients.
• Complete documentation and ensure all orders are current or discontinued.
• Participate in meetings and projects to improve Respiratory Care Services.
• Utilize infection control techniques per department procedures.
• Collaborate with physicians and nurses to create and evaluate treatment plans.

The Respiratory Care Practitioner utilizes current evidenced based Respiratory Care Practice to care for each patient based on the physiological, psychosocial and cultural diversity. Works under the direction of the leadership team to provided respiratory services associated with and in accordance with standards of excellence established by Riverside Health System and facility goals and strategic plans. Responsible for assuring safe practices as referenced in the National Patient Safety Goals, and supports best practices as recommended by the American Association of Respiratory Care. **What you will do*** Responsible for assessing, diagnosing, implementing, and evaluating the treatment and procedures that contribute to the Respiratory Care Plan.* Completes all documentation and assures all orders are current, completed or discontinued.* Participates and assists in meetings, projects and in-services relative to improvement of RHS Respiratory Care Services.* Utilizes proper infection control techniques in performance of duties and in accordance with departmental procedures.* Works with physicians and nurses to create treatment plans.
