Job summary

CHI Mercy Health Valley City is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join an established cardiopulmonary care team. The role focuses on delivering specialized respiratory treatments, ventilator management, and oxygen therapies to patients with diverse needs, in a hospital setting.

You will apply critical thinking and a strong sense of urgency to develop and execute care plans, manage routine and emergent situations, and ensure precise documentation and patient education.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited Respiratory Therapy Education Program.
• Six (6) to twelve (12) months' experience in Respiratory Care or related field.
• North Dakota Respiratory Therapy Practitioner licensure.
• Certified Respiratory Therapist credential.

Responsibilities

• Evaluating patient and recommends a treatment plan.
• Provides respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical/surgical conditions.
• Performing/removal of endotracheal tubes as required.
• Timely and accurate documentation with real-time charting.
• Promoting continuous quality improvement.
• Educating and counseling patients, family members, and caregivers.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Respiratory Therapist, you will join an established team of RRTs who share your passion for delivering highly specialized cardiopulmonary care to patients experiencing breathing issues. You'll be instrumental in providing a range of treatments from breathing techniques and nebulizer treatments to ventilator management, oxygen therapies, and external ventilation support.Every day you will apply your keen assessment skills and critical thinking to manage diverse patient needs, develop and execute effective care plans, and ensure calm, focused intervention in both routine and emergent situations.To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate a strong sense of urgency, unwavering calm under pressure, and the ability to anticipate outcomes. Job Requirements

• Graduate of an Accredited Respiratory Therapy Education Program
• Six (6) to twelve (12) months' experience in Respiratory Care or other related field
• Respiratory Therapy Practitioner: North Dakota
• Certified Respiratory Therapist
• Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the state of North Dakota
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support to be obtained within 30 Days of start date
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support to be obtained within 30 Days of start date
