Responsibilities

Job Summary

Join our team in Tulsa, OK! The Licensed Respiratory Therapist assesses, implements, and evaluates respiratory care services in accordance with established hospital standards, department policies, and applicable clinical guidelines. The position is responsible for monitoring patient status, delivering appropriate respiratory interventions, and supporting high-quality patient care across non-critical and critical care settings.

• Medication administration via nebulizer and metered-dose inhaler

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Assess and provide respiratory care interventions to patients in non-critical care settings while considering age, cultural, psychosocial, and clinical factors.
• Provide respiratory care to patients in critical care environments.
• Administer and manage invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation.
• Monitor ventilator parameters and evaluate patient responses to changes in ventilator settings.
• Perform ventilator maintenance and make appropriate setting adjustments within established protocols.
• Verify physician/provider orders and accurately document pertinent clinical information in the medical record.
• Maintain complete, timely, and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with departmental policies.
• Respond promptly to emergency situations, including code responses and rapid/critical intervention calls.
• Assist with patient transports as required.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, respiratory care staff, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Demonstrate sound professional judgment when responding to changing patient or departmental needs.
• Delegate and coordinate appropriate tasks when applicable.
• Respect and advocate for patients' rights and maintain professional relationships with patients and their families.
• Maintain effective communication with the department and healthcare team.
• Participate in required in-services, continuing education, and departmental training.
• Complete required variance reports and other departmental documentation.
• Organize and prioritize clinical responsibilities according to patient needs and acuity.
• Anticipate patient and departmental needs and respond appropriately.
• Participate in mentoring and onboarding of new personnel.
• Assist with monitoring the quality and appropriateness of respiratory care services.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and projects designed to improve patient outcomes.

Education Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care/Respiratory Therapy program.

Licensure & Certification

• Valid state respiratory care practitioner license or authorization to practice, as applicable.
• Current Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the designated onboarding period.

Experience

• Entry-level candidates may be considered.
• Approximately 0–6 months of related respiratory care experience is listed as the minimum requirement.
• Clinical experience in an ICU setting may be preferred or required for certain assignments or compensation levels.

Schedule & Compensation

• Available Positions: 2
• Primary Shift: Night shift
• Typical Schedule: Approximately 6:45 PM – 7:50 AM
• Day Shift: May be available depending on operational needs.
• RRT Differential: RRT credential may qualify for an additional hourly differential.
• Sign-On Incentive: Available, with the amount varying by shift and applicable employment commitment.
• Relocation Assistance: May be available to qualified candidates.
• Clinical Ladder: Additional compensation opportunities may be available for qualifying advanced certifications and experience.
