Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Respiratory Therapy required.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist required.
  • Oregon Respiratory Care License required.
  • AHA BLS within 30 days required.
  • ACLS within 60 days required.
  • PALS within 60 days required.
  • NRP within 60 days required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Interviews patient and family to obtain home environment and health history.
  • Reads prescriptions, reviews patient information, and assesses condition to administer respiratory therapy.
  • Observes, inspects and tests respiratory therapy equipment.
  • Cleans, disinfects, and sterilizes equipment.
  • Sets up and operates devices such as mechanical ventilators and oxygen delivery systems.

Job description

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Respiratory Therapist, you will join an established team of RTs who share your passion for delivering highly specialized cardiopulmonary care to patients experiencing breathing issues. You'll be instrumental in providing a range of treatments from breathing techniques and nebulizer treatments to ventilator management, oxygen therapies, and external ventilation support.


Every day you will apply your keen assessment skills and critical thinking to manage diverse patient needs, develop and execute effective care plans, and ensure calm, focused intervention in both routine and emergent situations.

  • Interviews patient and family members to obtain information about home environment, family relationships, health and psychosocial history.

  • Reads prescriptions, reviews patient information, and assesses patient condition, to administer respiratory therapy.

  • Observes, inspects and tests respiratory therapy equipment.

  • Cleans, disinfects, and sterilizes equipment.

  • Sets up and operates devices such as mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators.
