Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy or graduation from NBRC-accredited program.
  • Current State of Wisconsin Respiratory Therapy certification.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential preferred.
  • BLS within 3 months of hire; ACLS within 6 months; NRP within 1 year.

Description

At The Richland Hospital, our patients above all else drives everything we do. We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Respiratory Therapists to join our team in full-time and part-time night shift positions. These positions include an every-third-weekend rotation and holiday coverage.

Position Overview

Under the direction of the Director of Respiratory Care, the Respiratory Therapist is responsible for monitoring and assessing patients' respiratory status throughout the hospital, including Intensive Care, Medical/Surgical, and Emergency Department settings.

The Respiratory Therapist provides assessment, treatment, and respiratory care for patients of all ages, from infants through geriatric populations. This role initiates and conducts therapeutic procedures, maintains accurate patient records, manages respiratory care equipment, and collaborates closely with nursing staff and providers to deliver exceptional patient-centered care.

  • Assess and monitor respiratory status of patients across multiple care settings.
  • Administer respiratory treatments and therapies according to physician orders and established protocols.
  • Provide care to neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory procedures.
  • Operate, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot respiratory care equipment.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Respond to respiratory emergencies and support critical care interventions.
  • Promote patient safety and quality outcomes through evidence-based respiratory care.
Qualifications
Education Required
  • Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy or graduation from an NBRC-accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
Licensure Required
  • Current State of Wisconsin Respiratory Therapy certification.
Preferred Credentials
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential preferred.
Certifications Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 3 months of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within 1 year of hire.
